Legal
Terms of Use
Applies to HomeStock at app.gethomestock.com, this website, and the HomeStock mobile apps.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and BALD EAGLE LABS, LLC ("HomeStock", "we", "us"), a limited liability company registered in Ohio, United States, governing your use of the HomeStock web and mobile applications and related services (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if higher) to use HomeStock.
2. What HomeStock is
HomeStock is an inventory management application. It lets you track items, locations, grocery lists, recipes, reminders and related records across three kinds of "spaces":
- Personal — private to you.
- Household — shared with people you invite.
- Business — shared with people you invite, and additionally offers business features including a stock ledger, employee records, time clock, hours and pay, suppliers, purchase orders, stock counts and business finance.
HomeStock is a record-keeping tool. It is not an accounting, tax, payroll-filing, legal, or financial-advice service. It does not pay wages, file taxes, calculate or withhold tax, remit deductions, or transmit money. Any figure it calculates — including hours, pay and financial totals — is an aid to your own record-keeping, and you are responsible for verifying it and for your own compliance obligations.
3. Your account
- You must give accurate account information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- One person per account. Do not share credentials — invite people to your space instead.
- Tell us promptly at support@gethomestock.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Shared spaces
If you invite someone to a Household or Business space, they can see the data in that space that you have granted them access to — including items, lists, the activity log showing who did what, finance entries, and business records held in it. Only invite people you trust with what you grant them.
An invited member gets access only to the specific space they were invited to — never to your other spaces, and never to your account. What each member can do within a space is granted per person by the space owner. Removing a member ends their access immediately and cancels any invitation of theirs that had not yet been accepted, but content they contributed remains in the space, and we cannot retrieve anything they have already seen, copied, or exported.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are not yet available. HomeStock is currently free to use and nothing is being charged. No payment details are collected, and there is nothing to cancel. This Section 5 sets out the terms that will apply when paid plans launch; until then, only the free tier described in 5.1 is in operation.
5.1 Free tier
The free tier includes one Personal space at no cost. It does not include shared Household or Business spaces.
5.2 Paid plans
| Plan | Duration | Price per period | What it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| HomeStock Plus | 1 month 1 year |
$4.99 per month $39.99 per year |
Unlimited Personal and Household spaces, unlimited invited members, full inventory, scanner, reminders and finance features |
| HomeStock Business | 1 month 1 year |
$19.99 per month $199 per year |
Everything in Plus, plus Business spaces: stock ledger, employee records, time clock, hours and pay, stock counts, purchase orders, suppliers and business finance |
Prices are shown in your local currency on the purchase screen before you confirm, and are exclusive of any tax added at checkout. Prices may vary by country. The exact price and period you are agreeing to are always displayed at the moment of purchase — by the App Store or Google Play for in-app purchases, or on the checkout page for purchases made on this website — and that display governs.
5.3 Invited members pay nothing
A subscription is held by the owner of a space. Members invited into a space that an entitled owner pays for may use that space at no charge, for as long as the owner's subscription is active. An invited member's free access applies only to the space they were invited to; it does not entitle them to create their own paid spaces.
5.4 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically. For in-app purchases, payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews for the same period at the same price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
5.5 How to cancel
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time and turn off auto-renewal. Where you cancel depends on where you bought it.
- iOS / iPadOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → HomeStock → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → HomeStock → Cancel subscription.
- Bought on this website: cancel from your account settings, or email support@gethomestock.com and we will cancel it for you.
For purchases made through an app store, cancellation must be done through that store — we cannot cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end the period you have already paid for — you keep paid access until that period ends.
5.6 What happens if your subscription ends
When a paid period ends without renewal, the spaces owned by that account become read-only for all their members. Nothing is deleted. You keep the ability to read and export your data, and you keep write access to one Personal space. Resubscribing restores full access.
5.7 Refunds
For purchases made through the App Store or Google Play, refunds are governed by their policies — request them from Apple or Google, not from us. For purchases made on this website, contact support@gethomestock.com. To the extent permitted by law, payments are otherwise non-refundable, and partial periods are not refunded. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the related access ends immediately. Nothing here limits any statutory right of withdrawal or refund you may have under your local consumer law.
5.8 Price changes
We may change subscription prices. Any change applies only to future renewal periods, and we will notify you in advance, giving you the opportunity to cancel before it takes effect.
6. Business spaces: employee data
This clause governs any personal data about your employees or staff that you enter into a Business space. Read it before you enter anyone else's information.
6.1 You are the controller; we are the processor
If you create or administer a Business space and record information about employees — names, contact details, wages, hours worked, pay and deductions — then, for that data, you are the data controller and HomeStock is a data processor acting on your instructions, as those terms are used in the GDPR, the UK GDPR and comparable laws.
6.2 Your warranties
By entering employee data into HomeStock, you represent and warrant that:
- You have a lawful basis to collect and process that data and to have us process it on your behalf.
- You have given your employees any privacy notice required by law, including telling them that their data is stored in a third-party application.
- You will honour your employees' data-subject rights (access, correction, deletion, and others) and will action them yourself in the app, or ask us to help.
- You will not enter special-category data (such as health, biometric, or government identification numbers) or bank account details. HomeStock does not provide fields for these and is not designed to safeguard them.
- You have read Section 6.2 of the Privacy Policy and understand that a plain-text copy of Business-space data is cached on the local device of each member who opens the space. Employee and payroll records are excluded from that cache and are held in memory only while the screen showing them is open.
- You understand that you decide which members can reach employee and pay records, and that you are responsible for who you invite and what you grant them.
6.3 Our commitments as processor
We will process employee data only to provide the Service and on your instructions; we will not use it for our own purposes; we will keep it protected by the security measures described in the Privacy Policy; we will assist you, so far as is reasonable, in responding to data-subject requests; and we will delete it on your instruction.
6.4 Data Processing Addendum
If you require a signed Data Processing Addendum (DPA) or Standard Contractual Clauses for your own compliance, contact support@gethomestock.com. Where a separate DPA is executed between us, it takes precedence over this clause for the data it covers.
6.5 Indemnity
You will indemnify HomeStock against claims, penalties and costs arising from employee or third-party personal data that you entered into the Service in breach of this Section 6.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, using the Service.
- Upload or enter personal data about someone else without a lawful basis to do so.
- Attempt to access data belonging to another user or space, probe or bypass our security or row-level access controls, or interfere with the Service's operation.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or build a competing service from the Service, except where the law expressly permits it.
- Upload malware, or content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringing.
- Resell, sublicense, or share paid access outside the space-sharing features we provide.
- Use automated means to place unreasonable load on the Service.
8. Your content
You own your content. We claim no ownership of the data you enter into HomeStock. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit and display your content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the members of your spaces (including making backups). This licence ends when your content is deleted, subject to the backup periods in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the legality of the content you enter. In a shared space, content contributed by multiple members is associated with that space; see Section 4 and the Privacy Policy.
9. Availability, and no warranty
We aim to keep HomeStock available and correct, but we do not guarantee it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will give reasonable notice before discontinuing the Service entirely, and an opportunity to export your data.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST, OR THAT ANY CALCULATION IT PRODUCES — INCLUDING HOURS, PAY AND FINANCIAL FIGURES — IS ACCURATE OR FIT FOR REGULATORY, TAX, OR ACCOUNTING PURPOSES. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING YOUR OWN RECORDS AND BACKUPS.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOMESTOCK AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50).
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED, INCLUDING FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR ANY LIABILITY UNDER MANDATORY CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
11. Termination
You may stop using HomeStock and delete your account at any time — in the app under Settings → About → Delete Account, or by emailing support@gethomestock.com.
Confirming a deletion in the app starts a 14-day period during which nothing is deleted and you can cancel, using the Keep my account button shown throughout the app. A Household or Business space with other members in it is transferred to another member rather than deleted. Section 10.3 of the Privacy Policy sets out the process, and Section 9 sets out exactly what is removed and when.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your account is used to harm the Service or other users. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the problem, and an opportunity to export your data. Sections 6.5, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 survive termination.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Ohio will have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use HomeStock after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and delete your account.
14. App store terms
If you obtain HomeStock from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the Service or for support; Apple has no warranty obligation in respect of the Service; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. If you obtain HomeStock from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to your download and purchases.
15. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
