About
Who makes HomeStock
HomeStock is built and operated by BALD EAGLE LABS, LLC, a company registered in Ohio, United States.
What it is
HomeStock keeps track of what you own and what you're running out of — at home, and at work. It started as a way to stop a household buying the same thing twice, and grew a business side because the problem turns out to be the same problem with more zeros and a legal requirement to get it right.
How it's built
It's a small operation, which shows up in the product in ways worth knowing about before you rely on it.
Things get said plainly. If a feature isn't finished, this site says so rather than putting a button there. If HomeStock can't save your change, it tells you instead of showing you a screen that looks fine. If a number can't be worked out reliably, it's reported as unavailable rather than quietly as zero — a zero reads as a fact, and a wrong fact is worse than an admitted gap.
Support comes from a person. There's no ticket queue and no chatbot. That is slower at three in the morning and better the rest of the time.
Where it's going
The browser version is what exists and what's being used. Desktop and phone versions are being built, and subscriptions aren't switched on yet — nothing is being charged today. What's coming and what it will cost are both set out without dates attached, because a date that slips costs more trust than it buys.
